DESTA conducted the climate pathfinder series workshop, hosted by AVPN, in Mumbai on the 17th-18th of January 2023. This was the first climate capacity-building program for decision-makers of philanthropic organizations and other grant-making bodies. The workshop showcased examples of how all social, developmental, and environmental projects have strong linkages with climate – mitigation and adaptation – and why it is important for them to wear a climate intersectionality lens to enhance their climate action. The workshop had speakers from various domains share their understanding and experiences on climate finance, climate equity, climate adjacency, climate justice, and how to formulate coalitions for enhancing climate action. This pioneer cohort of 12 participants cross-pollinated regionally relevant ideas and concepts to develop mutual learning opportunities and foster a shared understanding of climate action in India.
