Mihir participated in the 6th Asia Agriculture Insurance Conference which was held in New Delhi on the 12-13 September with the theme of “Feeding the world with SMART Agrotech” and the Subtext as “A resilient Agri insurance system”. Around 150 participants from the region participated. Mihir was part of the panel on Agriculture Insurance- a panacea for climate change ravaged agriculture in SouthEast Asia?. Speaking from ground realities he reflected upon what was the need of the hour for farmers in India and how are multiple risks creating an ecosystem of vulnerability for farmers. The panel also reflected on how farmers are surviving without insurance in the face of climate change and market risks and how could insurance strengthen their adaptive capacity.
